No Slip

It seams, these days, that Hudson has his hands on everything! Including my kitchen towels! I used to keep them hanging on my oven door, but since Hudson has decided they are fun to steal, that's not going to work anymore. So I came across a very cute idea on Pinterest, and here is how it turned out!
You start with kitchen towels that match your kitchen, and some complimentary fabric (I used flannel), and a medium size button. Some people would probably use a pattern to cut their fabric out, but I didn't have the patience to do that last night, it was just to easy to wing it!

Start by pleating the fabric and pinning it.
Then sew it.
Cut out a triangular shape with tail like this
Cut out 2 of the triangles with tails and place them front to front, pin, and sew. Leave the bottom part open to put your towel into.
Place your towel into the open bottom of your triangle. Fold up the bottom of the triangle and pin it all together. Sew it together back and forth and few times. You want it to stand up to lots of washes.
Next, just sew on your button, and make a button hole in the flap. Done!
It'll look something like this! Just remember to have fun with it!
Don't worry about making it perfect, it is just a dish towel after all!
Happy sewing!

Spiced Tea

Today, I am welcoming Fall! Two of my most favorite things in the whole world are 1) crisp cool air, and 2) hot spiced EVERYTHING! I adore cloves and cinnamon! You would be surprised at the many things that can, in fact, be spiced up with these two spice wonders! I even put them in my vacuum cleaner! Anyways, I thought I would share my most favorite Fall recipe! Spiced Tea, or also know as Russian Tea. It's super easy, cheap, makes a ton, and is a great gift if you put it in a pretty jar!

Ingredients~
3 1/3 cups sugar
20 oz Tang
Enough dry pink lemonade mix to make 6 quarts
3 tsp cloves
3 tsp cinnamon
1 cup instant tea

Stir together in a very large bowl, store in air tight canisters. To drink, simply add to hot water and stir! I like mine strong, so I usually add about 4 teaspoons to a regular size mug. Enjoy!
Buon Appetito,
Hannah

361 days old

Hudson will be turning 1 year old in exactly 4 days.. this has been the shortest, most wonderful year of my life, and I can't believe that it's almost over! He has changed and grown so much, sometimes I miss the not so tiny little baby he was when he was born. I don't know how my life could possibly get any better than it is right now! And sure, we have our tough days, temper fits, and sicknesses. But each day when he smiles at me my world shines a little brighter, and I love him a little more than the day before... Each day he grows a little bigger, and little stronger, and a little smarter, and now I've blinked and he's 361 days old. Thank you God, for giving me those 361 days! They have been the best 361 days of my life! I'm looking forward to all the wonderful, and less than wonderful, days with Hudson to come!
 Right after he was born!

Celebrating his Birthday month!

Sweet kisses

One of the really fun things about Hudson, is his love of eating! He will eat anything he can get his hands on... bugs, grass, leaves, and occasionally, actual food! I was eating a brownie and Hudson really wanted to be held, so I picked him up! He had his eyes on my brownie, and each time I took a bite he would chew with me. As I finished the last bite of the brownie, Hudson gave me a loving look, and leaned in, as if to give me a kiss! Instead of a kiss, he starts licking and sucking on my face!!! Apparently, I had a large smear of brownie on my face and he decided to have it!

My sweet little man

Last night, as I rocked my sweet baby boy to sleep, I couldn't get over how much he has changed since the first time I saw him...
I can't believe how time has flown...
I started to cry thinking about how fast it's all going... how, much he's already changed, and will continue to change. It's exciting, and scarey, and SO much fun! So, This is one of my favorite moments from the week! He loves to feed himself black beans, he is so so cute when he eats!
