Yummmm... of the week

Since this is my first week of this blog thing, and I LOVE food, I have decided that each week on Wed. I will share a recipe that I am obsessed with!!! I'm calling it my Yummmmm...of the week! So, here goes!

This weeks Yummmmm... is ***********Loaded Cornbread************
This is my Mom's recipe. It is super easy, and great to cook ahead of time, and reheat when you're ready!
Preheat oven to 350.
1/2 cup self rising flour
1/2 cup self rising cornmeal
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening (crisco)
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 lb hamburger or sausage
1 can cream corn
1 cup cheddar cheese

Brown meat. Mix together flour, corn meal, sugar, crisco, egg, milk, and corn. Layer in 8x8 or 9x13 casserole dish, 1st layer- half corn mixture, 2nd layer- all hamburger or sausage, 3rd layer-cheese, 4th layer other half of corn mixture. Bake for 30-45 minutes till toothpick comes out clean.
Goes well with black beans.

My sweet little man

Last night, as I rocked my sweet baby boy to sleep, I couldn't get over how much he has changed since the first time I saw him...

 I can't believe how time has flown...

 I started to cry thinking about how fast it's all going... how, much he's already changed, and will continue to change. It's exciting, and scarey, and SO much fun! So, This is one of my favorite moments from the week! He loves to feed himself black beans, he is so so cute when he eats!

My name is Hannah, and I am a first time mom! I will be sharing all the many eventful and thrilling parts of my day... or if nothing thrilling happens, I can always come up with something else!

Anyways, my son's name is Hudson. He is, to me, the cutest most precious little boy in the entire world! Of course when I found out I was pregnant, I dreamed of having a tiny, 6 pound, pink and perfect little girl... However, That was not what God had planned for me.
I can still remember the day I found out... There I lay, pants unbuttoned, cold goo all over my stomach, holding my husbands hand, breathless with excitement! This was the moment I had been waiting for for 13 long weeks...the moment I would hear her say, "It's a GIRL!"...Instead she looked at me, after poking and prodding my very full bladder for half an hour, and said "There's his penis!"... Of course my husband started bouncing up and down, trying to contain his glee, as I started sobbing, saying "are you sure???" "It's not a girl???" I was terrified! I grew up with 3 sisters, no brothers, and I did not know a thing about boys!
Anyways, Of course I grew into the idea of having a boy, having no other choice in the matter, I'd say it was the best plan of action! And now, I wouldn't trade him in for a hundred girls! He is the best, most wonderful thing to ever happen to me and my husband, and we love him with all our heart! So join me as I share my thoughts, mistakes, and grand adventures of being a first time mom!
